Nach den beiden Radiosingles im letzten Jahr: "Nightmare" und "Better For Me", die bereits für ein gehöriges Grundrauschen sorgten, kommt nun mit "Holding On To Letting Go" der tatsächliche Überhit seiner für Ende Juni anstehenden EP auf uns zu. Der Song hat es auf die NMF bei Spotify geschafft und unglaublicherweise gehen verschiedene Videos mit dem Song auf TikTok viral.

London-based producer/songwriter/singer Scott Quinn today releases his new single "Holding On To Letting Go" - the third taste of his upcoming debut EP 'BETTER FOR ME', out June 25th. New single "Holding On To Letting Go" is a subtle, emotionally-charged ballad pairing Quinn's remarkable vocal talents with tasteful electronics and plush instrumentation. A self-confessed ode to codependency, the track provides the most intimate insight into his own work to date. Delicate piano brushes next to Quinn's stunning vocal, as he sings: "I ignore my friends whenever they call / Cause sometimes they convince me I don’t love you anymore / but I’d rather hurt than forget about you and be fine". Quinn explains: "It's about the self justification of keeping yourself in a hurt state in the hope of holding onto the tattered remains of a relationship." Previously penning tracks for acts including BTS, Zara Larsson, Keith Urban, and JONES – Scott Quinn is a prodigious songwriting talent, both for others – and his own artist project. Inspired by pop-songwriting staples such as Julia Michaels, benny blanco, Pharrell Williams and Charlie Puth – Scott is without doubt making a case to follow in their star-studded footsteps. Commenting further on the new single, Yorkshire-born Quinn said: "This song was one of the easiest songs I’ve ever written. I wrote it with a very talented writer called Adam Argyl, in a studio in west London. We had both been going through some pretty intense and emotionally taxing relationship stuff and just met on common ground when writing this song. Listening back to the voice memos is so interesting because you can hear how the song just ‘arrived’ out of nowhere. There were some lyrics in this song that rang so true for both of us, which made the whole process so cathartic. Not to mention the title lyric ‘I keep holding on to letting go..’. It’s such a simple concept but carries so much weight, I’m so surprised that I haven't heard it sung that way before." Scott Quinn has already made considerable moves ahead of this, his debut solo EP. Topping the US Billboard album chart and country singles chart via his songwriting for BTS and Keith Urban respectively, he also topped the Israeli single charts with a K-pop co-write. When Scott isn’t writing hits for others, he’s working on his own material, and like every artist true to form, he saves the best for himself.
